What Does the following chest CT Scan Result Indicate?

I had a chest ct scan for enlarged axillary lymph node on ultrasound. Findings were Several borderline enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes. Pre-vascular space lymph nodes up to 8mm. The right paratracheal lymph nodes up to 7mm. Subaorticymph nodes up to 8mm. Subcarinal lymph nodes up to 11mm. Lungs: there are a few bilateral prominent pulmonary nodules and there are also nodules along the bronchi vascular distribution mainly in the apical segment of the right upper lobe. Largest nodule in right upper lobe measures 5x3 mm. There are small nodules along the fissures bilaterally, right greater than left. There is no area of reticulation. Waiting to see pulmonologist.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The CT scan shows multiple lymph nodes in axilla, mediastinum, para-tracheal and sub-aortic region. The lymph nodes in axilla can be subjected to fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) to assess the type of cells in lymph nodes. The further course of treatment can be decided by knowing the type of cells in the lymph nodes. A nodule in right upper lobe of lung also needs to be investigated by a FNAC or biopsy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
